Commodore or Falcon - Any comparisons posted?

I've had a 350 V8 monaro, VH & VB v8's, VR SS & now a VT SS.. Love my 8's ! I really like the Ford XR8's. Was seriously looking at a 2001 XR8 (5 speed manual) with black leather interior but the wife wanted the holden.. gotta keep the wife happy. Personally I like both but i can't...

    Vt SS oil for LSD

I had some bad diff chatter on my VT SS LS1 6 speed back in 2006. I drained the diff & dumped some MOBILUBE SHC ID 80W-140 LSD diff oil in it... it's been great since. I also bought some of the holden friction modifier at the same time just in case but read you need to change the pinion seal...

    VX SS LSD oil

Do you have an LSD ? Diff chatter ? If so i got some of this so called 'additive' in a 100ml bottle. I didn't add it tho cos as as soon as i changed the LSD diff oil with new Mobil SHC ID 80w/140 Synth LSD oil all has been quiet (5,000km ago). Holden say the factory LSD diff oil put in is...

VT SS manual - Traction control?

The manual Series II VT SS's (5.7L) didn't come out with Traction Control, not shure of the Series 1 (5L) Manual though. Shure makes for fun times in the wet. First sign of a wet road & lil Boi Ricers are out spinning their lil wheels & here i am trying damn hard not to, even with the standard...

    VTII driveshaft/universal bolts loose

Auto Transmission Service Guide – 4L60E

Thanks for taking the time & effort for a good write up. I used a small screw driver & hammer. Made a small dent to the rim of the seal so i could bend the seal side inwards & prise it out with some long nose pliers. I remember i was ****ting myself at the time hoping that holden gave me the...

    VTII driveshaft/universal bolts loose

Greg, does it mainly do the 'clicking' thing when you decelerate / slow down or coast along in neutral. Does this clicking noise sound like a 'loose' metallic type rattle ? Refer to the VT rubber Driveshaft Coupling. hmmmm, a rubber coupling on a 250 kw V8 driveshaft, good on ya holden.

    enough coolant

The LS1 requires a 50% water to 50 % dex-cool mix (5 Litres of Dex-cool is o.k.). The stuff is orange in colour. The Total Coolant capacity for the LS1 is 12 litres. That is all. cheers

vt $$$ sounds like you got a small leak in your heater core & they're going to have to rip half your dash out to replace it !. What else can go wrong? umm let me see...... leaky power steering pump seals $120, poked oil sender switch $320 , Buggered driveshaft donut $1200, noisy lsd...

    Diff oil for vx ???

No, the diff should be pretty quiet. it's a bit hard to diagnose if your'e not shure about a noise, If it is your diff & it didn't make this so called "whurring noise" before it could be that the 90ls oil you used is a bit thin ? Upon lengthy investigations into my own problems, i found...
