I did the work myself so can't tell the labour but it was quite a big job, probably might be easier to drop the engine out, would save the aching back some. Mongrel bolts at the back & not much room.150k kms. I asked the mechanic about burnt valve/s. He hasn't done those tests but he reckons it not a burnt valve. I dunno ;o)
Out of interest.. how much was the valve repair work ??
I fitted diamond inserts & latest nitrided ex valves, watch out lifters can run out of travel.
Mine went at 150K & the LW2 was meant to be a factory LPG engine but the inserts & valves were crap.
I did the chains & thermostat at the same time, but they were still in good condition, just a precaution, rest of engine was like new inside & crystal clean. Watch for faulty wide band front oxy sensors.
