68 HK Kingswood Immaculate (NEW Interior Pics)
I've invested in a 68 HK Kingswood i managed to pick-up from an old fella for a very-decent price, who has had it in his shed for 30 good years.
-It's a 3 speed synchro column shift 186 with. 169,794 miles. White, with aqua blue interior. It came with the original, genuine holden gear-lock mechanism.
It had seat covers since new, dash covers, steering wheel cover and parcel shelf cover. In other words, the interior is f****** immaculate.
Have taken the interior back to its original state which is the blue/aqua colour with vinyl floors and white interior roof.
So far i have:
- Had rust repaired on rear doors and front right hand side.
- Stripped the colour from the hubcaps (as they were mismatched) so they are all clean chrome now and touched up the white steel rims.
- Red-walled the tyres.
- Obtained an original owners manual for a dandy price.
- Had a good cut and polish, and it looks absolutely smick now.
- Hid a headunit in the glovebox and speakers under the dash.
I plan to keep my VY Berlina and have this car just under the cover to drive on the weekends.
Plans for the future:
- Respray engine bay including repainting the actual 186 engine with Holden Rocket Red.
- Applying new engine decals
- Repairing the rubbers around the window seals
- Replacing interior light
- Replacing drivers side armrest and fixing the locking mechanism
Thats about all for now! I'll upload some photos to show you how it is coming along!
Any suggestions are openly welcome!
Cheers
