Once again thanks to Samuels who started this thread - well done mate!
and again i'd just like to pump the website www.beyondblue.com.au which is great for the thousands of people who suffer anxiety / depression. It's been getting a lot of press via public figures lately (sports people particularly of late) and it is a really good site for dealing with this illness.
good luck to everyone! i think someone summed it up best earlier when they said the best thing to do was to distance yourself from the stressors as much as possible. For me, i finished school, made new friends, started working, built up my body and became more self confident.
Other people will have other stresses, and thats cool too. you just have to be smart about it, and don't let your emotions get you down. one think i always used to do was think the world was against me, and i'd just give up, or get upset or whatever. thats not thinking smart. use logic, work out what you can actually do to fix the problem, and generally that seems to be the case. for me, my dad straightened me out. basically dragged me to the doctor, and then talked to me about everything and made me start thinking logically.
now i can honestly say i'm past it. occasionally i get down, but most of the time i'm ok. just last week i had to pay $2,300 for blown headgasket, radiator and service. 2yrs ago... geez i don't wanna imagine what i would've done. now, i just paid the money, and got on with life.
what i'm saying is life is not always as bad as it seems. you just gotta think about the positives, start thinking logically about how you will fix the negatives. and once again, check out www.beyondblue.com.au
