The gaskets on the rear fascia panel and rear lights can also deteriorate and let water in as well. But as others have said, the rear 1/4 windows...

had the same problem in my vn first i thought it was the seal then i thought taillights and then i relised after a heavy rain that it was my quarter window cause the plastic trim had water on it :/ but i took it out and sealed it up and it hasnt leaked since :)
so +1 for quarter window

Bad news, i cant find the printout :(

It isnt too hard to do, the hardest part is to get the plastic covers off without breaking stuff!

I had water getting in to the tyre well, & it looked like it was from rear quarter window, however turned out to be a bad install on the rear spoiler, trouble with water is it will track along metal seems, wires, rubbers etc sometimes it appears to defy logic.
The best method to be sure (& what a dealer would do) is find someone you trust to close you in the boot with a torch & get them to spray a hose over various parts of the boot until you can see exactly where it is getting in.
Could save you a lot of mucking around.
