We were going to stay in Redlynch but decided to go to White Rock instead, were right at the top of the hill. I don't think it would be so bad if it was it hit during daylight hours, but damn 300km/h in the dark :unsure:

For example.... Townsville - Brisbane, Approx 8? hrs drive (if driving almost straight through), 24 hours to a day, 2-3 days notice....You do the math.

Sorry I mean Mackay, bout as far north as I have driven from Bris, and we did it in around 8 hours, with only 1 stop for fuel.

yeah right last time i did Brisbane to Mackay it took a bit longer than that.

I don't know the population of QLD Rockhampton and north to Cooktown and every town within 250KM of the coast could all move somewhere. That must me summin like 500,000 people. Where would they stay if everyone in the danger area days ahead moved? Even within the last 24 hours it'd probably be well over 250,000 people. Where do they go? It's a very narrow view that "they should just go, NOW." Reality doesn't work that way for many reasons.
