Hi there, I am asking for my friend who is driving a VE.
We all know the battery in a VE is located in the boot. But if I want to disconnect the battery because the car will not be driving for 4 months, how could I get it connected again after I am back? Is there any Manual release for the boot?
If not, I disconnect the battery, close the boot and the car is out of power, and I could not open the boot at all?!

So general question is if there is any manual release machanism to release the boot instead of the key and the release button in the car?

Appreciate any advice!!

Yes there is a release clip you can reach from the back seat. From memory, you pull the centre of the seat out and there is a yellow clip you pull.

No worries. It's been a while since I had to use it - but I do remember having to use it early on when my VE had the dreaded battery drain issue and I couldnt open the boot normally...

If you can't find it, the owners handbook will tell you.

Yep, it's there. Used it yesterday when I was installing some speakers.
Mine was on the drivers side back seat.

?

I know the battery is in the back, but pretty sure I thought I saw a battery disconnect in the actual engine bay. Big red clip.
It makes sense if mechanics ever need to drop power to service a component (instead of having grime all over the rear interior).

There is a button in the glovebox. Just tried mine, it works fine. My VH has one as well though it doesn't work.

Does that work with a disconnected or dead battery ?
