Charging/volts issues

So took it to holden this morn. They say its the alternator and want $1300 to install a new one..i said no thanks...
Just ordered a brand new one from holmart for $299..goes to show holden dealers and prob most mechanics are just after money..

Wow! That's the reason I do most of my own work. Even if I'm just guessing what's wrong and throw a new alternator in hoping that will fix it it's usually cheaper than taking it to the 'pros'. Usually but not always...

Re you still having probs mate or all sorted?
The battery clamp adapters that go onto the battery were corroded on mine, had the same issues until I replaced them.
They don't have much contact patch on the battery terminals either, loads of problems created from a poor design.
