yea i have been looking at diff gears for a while but still dont know whats best for a Manual....

most people say 3.08/3.46 is plenty and then i hear like the previous posted said that 3.9s are good for them so i have no idea anymore.

Yeah I've got no idea what gears I'll be upgrading to.. either 3.73 or 3.9 hopefully. Auto btw.

The higher ratios would be ok for an auto, as the gear ratios are different.
With the manuals its a different story.

Go the 3.46, no such diff gear as 3.43:thumbsup:
Then again, its always wise to get a second opinion from transmission specialist.

Ok changing diff gears what does it do to your fuel economy? Obviously you drop your top speed a bit but gain more pull/power on take off etc... what im wondering is as your RPM is sitting higher (i think this is right?) will fuel economy now be crap? and for an auto whats going to give me the best compromise on fuel and power? 3.46, 3.7 or 3.0?

Its very likley that you will be using more fuel for two reasons:

1) You'll end up driving the car harder because it will feel more torquey and you'll have a quicker take off from a standing start

2) At higher speeds your RPM will be higher than before and hence using more fuel.

I've seen a supplier offering 3.46s for $1300 which is think is a good ratio if you don't want to go too high. Not sure if that price includes tune and speedo calibration though,....
