Engine immobilised

Hi guys, I have a 2011 ve commodore and I have an intermittent engine immobilised fault where the car would stall and the engine will be immobilised for a couple of mins, anyone one else had this?

Does it say something about being immobilized on the dash? Did you pull any codes?

Likely the transponder in the key and the reader in the steering column are loosing coms.

Might be a faulty reader. Should be codes to support that.

P0513 incorrect immobiliser key (symptom 00)

but I’ve had the key changed and used the spare oem key and still happened

Yeah so when I’m driving it’ll jolt the speedo would go crazy, eventually stall then on the dash it says engine immobilised

How did you fixed your problem. I have a 2012 3.0L V6 VE commodore doing the same things as yours code P0513 incorrect immobiliser key coming up. Measured the frequency on both keys all good within the range. Starts and drives okay but it seems when it is heated up it jerks off and shut the engine. The Engine Immobilised refer to owners manual comes on the dash. Wait for a few minutes to get started.

Loosing contact with the key reader next to the ignition barrel. It’s screwed to the column, clear plastic, small CANbus connector on it.
