That would be a magic modification, a la the EH wagon.

1963 HOLDEN EH SPECIAL SERIES STATION WAGON - JCMD5195290 - JUST CARS

The models after this, with the wind-up rear window leaked dust and water as if it were magnetic. At least my HJ did.
My VZ with a hard lid and a bit of extra foam up the sides of the tailgate has never leaked dust or water.
Back in the the late 70's l had v8 xr fairmont. They had the electric rear window .
Driving along you could lower the rear window with a flick of a switch. Same with up.

If I was to do it I would probably use an addy top for the floppy glass, there's no way in hell that I'll get a wind up window to work xD.

But yeah the one you shown is a better representation of what I want to do.

Modify a panelvan tail gate. My H something panno had a fold down tail gate with a lift up window. Was so good.

Panelvan tailgate off what?

My thinking with using the ute lower is it had to be close to working, they use the same lights as a wagon and the cars are the same width, then put the wagons bottom latch mechanism in the top of the ute tailgate so the top latches to the bottom, have the ute lower latch the same as it does normally with the side catches if anything it should be stronger than the oe setup.
2 hinges top, 2 hinges bottom, 2 latches on the sides and one between then, vs two hinges on top and a single centre latche on the bottom.

Idk, I might buy a beat up ute tailgate and mess around, I've got 5 project cars on the go, why not turn the parts car into a semi project car xD

I read it that someone would love to do a HZ wagon with the same as in the picture.

I re-read it and never mind.

I'm a professional at ballsing things up haha.

I just run on a "what if this will work there" mindset, I got bored when coco hit back in '19, i had a 4x4 with a fu**ed body, and a hatchback with a dead motor, 1+1 = a mad max hatchback.
Also have an Austin farina, got it as a resto project, found out too late it had no tags, now I'm in the middle of shortening a vp wagon diff, and craming a 202 with a side mount supercharger in it, seen tubs hp and decided I'm going to make a slightly bigger version.

If it won't fit, I'll either make it fit or 100% fu*k it in the process.
