I thought the Commodore cup has been doing that for a decade or so?

It has, but this is going to be much more popular more like HQ racing as when it started because it's a cheaper class, when HQ racing first started there were cars from EVERYWHERE being built to race, in every town. We have no Commodore cup racers from around here, just a few historics. I don't know whats wrong with go karts :)? they are a better race car anyway if you want to go racing for the fun of it, just a bit smaller :p

When the monaro won the 24 hour race, didn't it still have to use its own IRS ?. If yes, then why cant they use standard bodys leave the factory IRS set-up in place keep front suspensions as one for both, build motors that are based on factory road going car engines, 500-600hp. Use of only 15 engines per year.

The ford has a difference suspension setup to holden, which is why the holden currently has to change to the ford setup on the race cars.

Up front i don't mind a share, more adjustments for racing the wishbone. But at the rear both with their IRS rears could be used to give the cars a slightly different characteristic's, like in the past ?...

Honestly what you see on TV isnt what you see at the track. At track level they are very fast and exciting to watch, look great sounds great. On TV they seem to be the same old boring thing they have become. Now they need to work out how they can make great viewing at the track and home. Make up the HQ's without the crashing type excitement.

I think its a good thing.
Bugger making rules to make it "fair" racing aint fair. If one product is crap, don't use it. If you must, Drive it better.. :) .

^^ exactly , bugger the sharing suspensions to make it fair , it just means that one make or the other has a crap design and their engineers should fix it. Thats the whole reason for racing road cars, it puts pressure on the designers to make better cars so they don't get their ass whipped on race day. And wouldn't it be funny to see all the ford fans buying commodores when they realise they are so much better lol.
