this thread has become too stupid

100L tank ? what are you spraying a jumbo ?

a 30L with a high volume low pressure gun is more than enough with 2K or acrylic, even a good painter can make a cheap gun work and an noob with a decent gun look bad. it has more to do with skill.

acrylic is very forgiving and quick drying and you have additives you can add to speed up or slow its dry time. if you don't know what you're doing just spray many layers then rub it back and polish it, same goes with 2k but its more like enamel with a high gloss but with a hardener added

there's a thread here somewhere "painting car with rollers" have a read ..... cars used to be painted with brushes then rubbed and polished

if you spend the time with you can make it as smooth as glass no matter what you use

i'll try and find some acrylic vs 2k i've done and you'll see no difference in the finish

Why wouldn't you buy a 100L tank if it's the same price as a good 50 L one? I'm going to have it for a life time so why wouldn't I buy a good one? And I've decide im using acrylic to paint the whole vl with a clear over the top.

100L would be great for using an air sander but not really necessary for spraying. Although i bought a 120L for my mate whos a painter so its really just about gettin a good deal.

looks like a good one Andrew, im sure its already been said but a belt driven compressor is usually better then the direct drive compressors, but that said the twin motors would go pretty well on that one, also looks like a good price for it. its up to you...lol

im using one of those supercheap (blackridge) compressors 45lt 2.5 hp combined with a 20 meter air hose inline, water trap and a workquip hvlp gun and i never run out of air and dont need to stop start the compressor goes flat out but keeps up happily with a hvlp gun. but the gun cost nearly as much as the compressor.

nothing wrong with overkilling your compressor. if you plan to use it for a long time then why no go 100ltr? i dont see a problem with it. i have a 90 ltr and am really happy with it.

but anyway, that last link you posted is pretty good ;) 10 amp so you can use it in a rental property without burning out the wiring and 14cfm. should be nice.
