Take it to a tuner that knows what he's doing.

I'll try getting some AFR's and post them up.
The self learning of the series two is interesting.

"Take it to a tuner that knows what his doing" is a default answer why not explain why?

Self learning is bullshit. A PCM has different tables to reference from, under different driving conditions it references these tables to "compensate" for the way the car is driven differently from the default table. It is set up to use ignition and fuel tables under one driving condition, when those conditions change, the PCM references different tables. So it doesn't actually learn, it just compensates for a different driving style other than the original factory default setup.

If a tuner had good knowledge, he could get more out of it safely, as an example, there is a tuner over here that is very good. he does safe tunes, IE: doesn't push the tune to it's limits so that the engine will suffer. He did an LS1 (different PCM and engine, I know) but for a 2002 LS1 that only had a MAFless tune and an exhaust, it got just under 270kW. I have seen him go close to 300kW on VE's. It comes down to tuner knowledge.

After getting air fuel ratios with the stock tune and full exhaust.
There was some sh#t results, the car ran lean at low rpm then went rich at high rpm
It wasn't what I expected!
The afrs at low rpm were like 14.0 and at high they were like 11.0 I'll try posting a graph.

But yeah if you're putting on extractors and an exhaust maybe even a otr get a tune unless you don't care how long your engine last
Because running that stock computer tune is rubbish period. Only going to cause premature wear to the engine
Plus you get more powah and it'll be safe

VEGTS BUILT BLOWN E85
thats the way the factory tune is set your always at 14.7:1 (or 14.1:1 e10) cruise/mid throttle until a desired amount of throttle/load is applied then it will go into OL power which sounds like it is set to 11:1 for most power with emissions control, the 14.7 is fine but the 11 can be brought back with a tune to 12.8ish for best power, do u have a wideband on there or are u just going off the commanded AFR from the ecu..?

How I miss the old days of carbies and distributors!
A "laptop" was a dance involving some skank for $50 in a Gentleman's club.
A sensor was a Gumbymint official who banned porno for a living.
Forged pistons weren't actually cheap Chinese knock-off forgeries.
A cat converter involved my front tyres.
Cat back was one that survived.
Engine lights meant either no oil, too hot or buggered alternator - period.
Emissions involved a drive-in movie theatre, the back seat and a heterosexual female.
The 1/4 mile was our dyno.
:yeah:
