Is there a difference between genuine and non-genuine panels?

Yes. Just when you touch/tapped it it sounded like tinfoil.

not to mention the chinese panels all have razor blade edges. was working on a honda crv today with a taiwan front guard. sliced the #### out of my finger without any effort at all... mind you i sliced it while i was sanding the edge of the panel with 120 grit to prevent cutting myself, and still cut myself...

It looks like the X-Trail's back wheel climbed up the Commodore's front wheel and ran over the top of the guard.

The early X-Trails had flexible soft plastic front mudguards. They flexed like a wheely bin lid.

what I want is a perfect fit (exactly like genuine) but the thickness I don't care much about. We don't get hail here and if I, god forbid, get in an accident then genuine or not it will need to be replaced.

I thought the Taiwanese guards fit just like genuine. No??

It's a complete and utter lottery. Some will be spot on, others will be terrible. No way of knowing till you have the panel and tried to fit it unfortunately.
