Hey,

I know it's time to let this thread die but I just wanted to say that there is no more clunking. I can't explain it (as I know sfa about it) but maybe it was air somewhere it shouldn'tbe causing the clunk.

Thanks for everyone's help.

From memory the tranny takes 4.8 lit at a general service "sump off", 11 lit at a full service "empty converter", checked when "hot" in park, never bothered actually measureing it, just put new stuff in the same amount what came out in old stuff and check it, add in 200ml amounts, drive, check again, and top up as required.

There is some difference in levels between hot and cold Dex III fluid.

Too much fluid can help the sump leak, and there is a small possibility of the front seal crapping out and passing fluid, allbeit small, mine did it so ?

Watch the mechanics, one mongrel put back in the same fluid that had been in the box 3 months after his gasket leaked big time.
