You will need to clean the head and block and measure for straightness on each of the mating surfaces. Any engine machine shop can do the resurfacing for you, however, you can have a go at it yourself ;)


If you need any gaskets, head bolts, etc we can help out if required.

MLS gaskets need to have both mating surfaces (Head & block) DEAD flat, DEAD clean and have a certain surface finish. If one or all of these situations arent followed, they will leak. I would suggest you have your head decked and check the block for straightness (Very carefully).

This is generally true, however, Alloytec gaskets are a little more forgiving given that they come impregnated with a silicone bead around ports

Hard to tell from those pics, however the gaskets seem ok.

I just see sections of the silicon missing.

I will check if straight after work..
Trying to do this on a budget but get it right still
Not easy job if I put back together and low
Compression still, I would cry
These cars built
to test patience, and with 4
Young kids surrounding me while Doing It, my kids and Holden have tested me haha
