Okay I go to my dealer on Friday to pull the trigger on an VFII Series II. I'm going for a SOAG Redline SSV 6MT with the large rear wing and the HF20s, together with some of the blackout bits swapped over for chrome (okay I'm into my mid 50s and prefer the shiny stuff!). I want to avoid having the HF-20s done at the dealer or via HSVi. My understanding is that these wheels can be fitted at factory when the car is a build to order. How do I ensure this?

I think dealer fitted is OK as long as you check a few things.
1. Price is reasonable, as some dealers take the pi$$
2. They install/retain Tire Pressure Monitoring sensors for you.
3. Only black HF20 are wider at the rear, so check what a dealer puts on there.

Good luck

I'm the same, don't like the all the blackout gear on them. I've already asked for the chrome to be put back on, which is supposed to be a no cost option to be changed over. And I'm also thinking of these Machine finished HF20s in lieu of the Black wheels. I'm only 34, and I prefer the shiny stuff. :) http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Genuine-Holden-100-Brand-New-HF20-20-Wheels-Machined-Face/201380000972?_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3De7e987841fbf49d3b108241fc8452a74%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D201380000972&_trkparms=pageci%253Aaca7a2a0-29a1-11e7-8027-74dbd180cfdd%257Cparentrq%253Aa4a61f0815b0abc2023eaf48ffffe643%257Ciid%253A1

Yes, GWS is my local dealer and I can walk there in 30min. I have bought from there before, once. They quoted a price on another car and they didn't move on that price, then I bought from elsewhere, went back in there to look at something else and told them I bought elsewhere, then they stated that could have better on price.. so why didn't they give a good price in the first place? Anyway, that was a car for the Mrs.

I was looking at one dealer since the start of last year, and they stated they would give me a good price once the 2017 models were released (not GWS) but when the colours were finally released with the new slightly increased pricing, this one dealer just jacked up the price $12k more than the price online. So I panicked and rang 3 other dealers that were recommended to me, and got the cheapest price, with no stuffing around, from Traralgon Holden. The Mrs approved and bought the car the next day, at the end of Jan/17. I have since gone into 3 Holden dealers during Feb/17 and got 3 prices and I still got the best deal - at the time.

Remember, the end of Jan-Feb-start of Mar was the time all Holden dealers bumped up their pricing. I am not too sure about pricing now, as I joined this forum at the end of Feb and have heard different stories and pricing and deals. If only we could have got a fire sale 20% off, like all Chevy SS owners got in Jul/16 and Mar/17, for a 2 week period only. Wouldn't that have been a dream at some Holden 4 day sale?

Well you gotta do what you gotta do, if the saving is significant then it is well worth it. At least it will be a nice day out for you, a relaxing train trip up and then you get to have a blast and enjoy your new car on the way home.
Good to hear that Colin Watson looked after you on price. Are you planning on going back there for servicing or are you going to use someone closer?

That's the beauty of this world, everyone is different and likes different things, it would be boring if everyone had the same looking car! The HF20s look good and I'm nearly 50!!

vl executive, thats what i believed to be the case as well about the no cost option, but does not seem to be the case. It will cost my insurance company 1000 bucks extra on the full retail price to get the chrome on my replacement car

It wasn't that it was a significant saving, it was the no bullshit quote. A friend of mine bought 2 used cars from them - one for him and one for his wife. He stated to me that they were a huge Holden dealership and maybe give them a chance. I shrugged it off at the time but when it came to trying to get a good quote I called and gave them a chance. I told them what I wanted and the salesman said he would call back in 10 minutes. He called back in 5 and gave me a quote. A no bullshit quote. So I called the next day and confirmed some points and bought the car. LMF sight unseen. I did ask about the servicing and he stated that I didn't have to take it to them at all. I think he was glad that he got the sale.

It's a 2 hour train ride there, and about 1.5 hour car ride home.. or 2 hour car ride.. or maybe I can do it in an hour :)

My local dealers were the same.

Both would not negotiate their price so went to smaller dealers with the better price. At least I started with the locals.

Had been waiting 12mths till placing order then waited 6 mths for it to show up. Two months left.

Can't wait.;)

Me too! For me, and now for you! Download the counter app..

Colour is personal preference but just take note that you'll only have 245mm tires at the back with these. I'm being a bit dramatic here but what if you spun out round a corner and your insurance company said you put non standard skinny wheels on??
