ok, so I managed to get my hands on a pioneer headunit pretty recent model too, got it working on the VZ, after blowing fuses like mad. anyway, after I hooked it up, it does not play sound, after 50 seconds it begins flashing Amp error code for ages, will not return to its previous state, will not respond until I open the door and it switches off, im stuck, anybody know what I can do ? cheers and thankyou :)

Disconnect the speaker wires at the head unit. If it still does it with them disconnected, the internal amp IC has been blown.

If it stops showing it, you have a speaker wire shorted somewhere.

It's pretty simple for a technician to replace it so you'd have to send/take it to a Pioneer authorized service agent. Use this page to find your nearest.

Part should be around $20 plus their labour if it isn't under warranty.
