Too many
i went today :p 15km circle. slow as all fk. but with the pumps trip yesterday thats 50kms in 2 days.

slowly stepping it up. working on endurance first then ill work on pace.
I spent the day photographing HQ's so I can't complain either :p

Nice though, thats the circuit I'll be doing, also slow as all buggery but it should be good fun.

next i need a nice and strong head stem to stop my handlebars from creaking and moaning.

suggestions?

edit* current stem is 8 degrees by 90mm

edit edit* hmmm, it would seem that the giant overdrive 2 system has a retarded steer tube size. the internet is saying 1.25" wheres usually the steerer is 1 1/8th"...

are those stems not going to be too short for your bike seeing its more an XC set up then an All-Mountain bike?
last stem I bought was about $100, so it does certainly get up there. (this one: http://themerged.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/SM_sheildwrap_Enduro-550x368.jpg )
tbh id just go to a local shop and see what they have, could probably pick one up for 50 or under.

also isn't 1.25" 31.7/31.8mm?

rebuilt the Felt today.
with what I had it ended up being built up quite large.
put on a set of pro (8 inch) bars on it, as all the other ones are bent/rebent after crashes.
not long now and itll be in someone elses hands.

so got a cool story:

riding my bike around the city
got bored
see's gutter bigger than normal
got a big pothole before it
and two cars parked close

IMA MOUNTAINBIKER!!!

jumps pothole
lands gap
forgets about checking for cast iron park benches embedded in pavement
goes over park bench
foot stuck in pedal clip
bike other side of bench
leg bent wrong direction over bench
feeling embarrased

owner of car comes out "are you ok"
"yeah i didnt hit your car, promise"

she lols, i lol. moral of the story, always look ahead.

Looking ahead is for pussies, better when you're surprised!

Mainly because it may end up on Fail Army or Jukin Vid and provide me entertainment.

Finally got around to doing my brake upgrade. Holy ****. From Elixir 5 (2010) and Avid 185mm rotor to Shimano M785 and Vibe 203mm, stops like a mofo and the modulation is fantastic.

had that feeling of "this isn't going to end well" today.
practicing race manuals and what not, front came down too early and nose cased on a double.
in doing so I managed to lift up the rear wheel and nose manual down the backside of said double at full speed.

dead set looking at the ground as you're in an uncontrolled nose manual was not fun.
somehow didn't go over the bars and the back end came down with a massive bang.
need to do a good once over to see if anything broke, couldn't see anything.

will have to have another crack at it next time.
