Replacing rack ends - Can I do it myself?

hey morton you might be able to swap the pinion on the stearing rack shaft from the colomn from a power stear rack and adjust it up to suit

Interesting thought. I wonder if the pinions changed ratio at all, or just the racks?

ide say just the pinion but yeah it could be both so they mesh nice what was the difference in ratio if it was only a tooth or 2 different it may well be the same rack rod with different pinion

I don't know the exact different I should really get another rack to pull apart and investigate.

There's an extra 360 degrees lock to lock I think.
