West Aussies in for a treat soon. Starting around 10 WST and finishing around 1 but for Exmouth it will be total darkness for a minute or so.

Perth will get dark but 70% so similar to evening. Light will be a bit like just on sunset.

The shadows on the ground are the safest way easy way to look at it. Tree leaves will be crescent shaped, and that crescent will change as the sun is covered by the moon.

It’s started. There’s a crescent in the shadows and the bite has come off when you go in the sun.

It’s slightly dimmer outside.

It’s cooler. And dimmer. But it’s not like when the sunsets. I suppose because at sunset the colours change too. It’s just dimmer.

You don’t feel the bite from the sun on your skin.

Birds are all doing their afternoon rounds of the garden. Coming in for a drink like they do around 4.
