Why bother? Get a scat stroker kit if you're going to spend that much on a stock rebuild you might as well spend a little extra and do it properly.
Hes only charging me same as what i wood spend on 304 crank

So engine is at the shop. Still debating on cam choice.
What are the benifits of raising compression ratio with sv5000 cam to 10:2 or was looking at the 269 269 202 207 .434 .434
15thou been taken off std heads and block needs a bore to .20 so needs new pistons hence why i thinking raising comp right up. Still using std manifold, hsv headers, sports 2.5" single exhaust, hi flow cat , 3.9 diff and std stall.

Trying to optimize engine to what i already have. Cheers

10.2:1 will be to much compression for a very small cam like the SV5000, dynamic comp will be really high and you will either need to pull out a heap of timing or run it on really good gas.

Probably 9 - 9.5:1 max

Almost seems a shame to do all this work, fit some decent pistons and then run such a small cam.

276 is a good compromise, and won't need to replace heaps of parts to do the cam swap and have it work well. Just don't go too crazy with compression.

Im no guru bit from my research 276 is as big as u wanna go on std torque convertor and my engine builder said that b4 i could ask. And comp not 100% sure what it will be? 20thou bore with flat tops and 15 thou off the heads.
Should be hi 9s maybe 10???
