I think your port sizes are completely wrong.

are you using two 10cm round ports? or are you using slot ports?

Hi guys,

I couldn't figure out that I could attach a picture like this. I was using quick reply. Anyway.

I was just unpacking my sub, about to put it into its new home :D and noticed part of the material sticking up. The picture was taken on my mobile so its not great quality. You know how speaker cabinets can have like a laminated covering? and when the sun hits it for awhile the ends kind of come away from the box itself? It kind of looks like that.

I was wondering if it could be damage to my sub. It's on the inner circle, you know where the manufactures put their logo or the model or something, it kind of looks like it just peels off, but I don't want to touch it, maybe when the sub was made in the factory the glue didn't stick properly?

woah...you don't want those vents...thats is gonna have a serious low tune dude. the 10cm tube ports were the right size for this driver. Two vents of that size are a different animal.

bigger ports, the same length = higher tuning.

for that sub, a single 6inch round port, or two 4 inch round ports is about what you need.

I think we need T/S specs for the sub so we can design a proper box for it, not just go by what the manufacturer says.

alright, I went and found some specs for the sub, however the manifacturer is useless and barely gives any specs whatsoever (a good reason I wouldn't even buy a sub in the first place)

"The new Olympus subwoofer series is a pure SPL monster"

the fs is too high (at 45Hz) to tune it very low, and the vas is far too low for it to work all that well is a musically tuned box.

what size/length did the manufacturer say to make the ports in the "flat response" box?

With the volume of air that this woofer moves you definetly need a larger vent.

NomZ = 1.5 Parallel ohm
Sd = .05 S/m
Revc = 1.25 Ohm
BL = 10 Txm
Vas = 35 Litres
Cms = 98.58 uM/N
Fs = 34 Hz
Qms = 3.8
Qes = .594
Qts = .513
no = .22%
SPL = 85.64 db @ 1m
Xmax = 25mm

Thats all I can find for it...I can't find any of it's actual mechanical properties.

Get a better quality pic of it...but otherway it's a defect with the sub. Can't tell from your pic if it's going to cause an issue.
