Suspicious stain??

Just picked up a secondhand VZ, drives like a dream. Although the last couple of days its started to leak. Only small, about the palm of your hand or slightly smaller. Its got me confused because of it how its dryed up?? (pink with that sort of dryed up milk look) If it was coolant then it would evaporate, wouldnt it?? If it was tranny or engine oil it would be the usual oily consistancy. It seems to be coming from the back of the engine drivers side somewhere (havent had a real good look due to work) around where the auto tranny dipstick is although not from. Any suggestion???

Thermostat housing is leaking. Coolant does stain and dries red with a white powdery effect. Pita to replace but is doable in the comfort of your garage. Allow 2 hours

28 days cooling off period from any dealer.. assuming you bought from a dealer taker it back to them

If its the thermo housing wouldn't it be better to replace the 2 o-rings on the water inlet and also the radiator cap and top and bottom hose ? Once you replace one part it always tends to find a new spot to start leaking from
