may pay to repair the scratch or it may rust under the new badge in the future

Usually Holden badges have double sided tape already on them, strong stuff too.

debadging problems

i pulled off the rear holden badge and found there is hole from where the badge was held on. what has everyone else who has debadged their car done about this? is there a way to fill in the hole or do i jus put another badge back on it, or would it look alright to just leave it? thanks for all replies in advance

You'll need to see a panel beater to get the hole welded and the boot painted...

If you leave it your boot will eventually start to rust as water permeates through and sits in the seem where the inner and outer panel of the boot join at the bottom.

Dont let a cheapo panel beater just bog it...cause the exposed bog on the inside of the hole will absorb moisture from the air and make it swell and crack over time.

Or just put the badge back on again.

Hope that helps.

debadging is a b****

i know this thread has already been started before, but i thought i would bring up the topic again as it is really annoying me. I ripped the side bumper strips off my car today and that sicaflex stuff wont come off. ive done one door so far and thats after 6 hrs of eucalyptus oil, gumption, old credit card and a lot of elbow grease. anyone got an easier way that doesnt involve huge sums of money.

Theres a product you can get from supermarkets called 'De-solve-it'. Looks like eucalyptus oil but heaps better and has a bluish label. I'm sure this stuff will work.
