well, after a year an a month of being a good boy not a single infringement, pulled over today in the way to work, defect on the window needs. 4 new tires, wheel alignment, new drivers side seatbelt, an he asked for a RWC as well,
lost my license as well, 4 demerits, $387 fine, doing 107 in an 80 zone,

serves me right though, my fault, lost it for a month,

tires are getting done as we speak, got a seatbelt from pick a part today,

but because he wants a roady. I'm gonna need bump stops, a windscreen, wipers, change my springs, an what ever else they want I guess, so motor. will be coming out over the next few weeks, cause the car will be parked, luckily I have a darling of a girlfriend, Shea driving me an picking me up from work, so was stressed this morning, but yeah, so there will be updates coming, got time to work on it now.

well, after a pretty long arvo an night, got the motor out yesterday, found the problem an a few others haha,
major problem was the back of the motor that plate that houses the rear main seal, the gasket between that an the block was gone, an also a torn engine mount. today I'm gonna spend all day cleaning it down, clean the sump, the manifold an the bay, ordered a full gasket kit for top an bottom end that will be in Monday so pretty happy, first time iv ever done that an no issues

this I why I was getting a huge water leak at the back if the motor

I'll PM you.

Lucky the rear main housing gasket didn't split from coolant to oil.

Better off buying a new rear main housing.

I'd remove the radiator and chemically clean it. Also foward and reverse flush it and give the fins a good clean.

What brand gasket set did you get?

I'd change majority of the ECU sensors and give the engine a good, clean tidy up.

Clean the injectors of carbon deposits too and check the PCV valve.

I took all the injectors out, there closed but they definitely need a clean, what's the best way to do that ?
couldn't tell ya the brand mate but it is gonna set me back about 250 - 300 ? does that sound right I'm new to this haha, oh okay forward an reverse flush as in flush it backwards the way the water pumps an forward ?
an Is the PCV valve the spring thing in the intake manifold ?

I usually clean carbon clogged injectors with kerosene and a bronze wire brush. The best way is to get them professionally cleaned in an ultrasonic bath.

I can't remember what my VRS kit cost me, but that sounds alright.

Yeah, water in the inlet of the radiator from the thermostat, and water in the outlet of the radiator to the timing cover pipe. Give the radiator a good flush in both pipe ends.

That's the one.

The Ecotec's are a pretty strong engine if you take care of them properly (Maintenance and pedal work).

How do I check it mate, I pulled it out an cleaned it all up the spring an all that seemed fine, but yeh how do I check it ?

Alright sweet man, radiator is next weekends job,

Yeah they are pretty trustworthy motors haha, I haven't really looked after mine, time to start haha,

With the injectors do you just clean the outlet an inlet with the brush, or ?

Thanks heaps bud
