but you lose over speed settings & control (you are no longer able to change the speed setting.
I get the overspeed flashing light on the dash. ( I didn't get it before)
I hope I can change the setting to higher speed, because that will be annoying on the highway

radio pin is in bcm security section

There wasn't anything listed there.

Does anyone know if Tech2 actually scans the electronics of the radio/cd or if it is just displaying a text entry field that may or may not have been updated by Holden. (Meaning if it was never typed in then it will never be found with a tech2)

brings you to all your security codes, radio, ecu link code and key number

Does anyone know what all the codes in P (police) mode and Diagnostic mode mean? If its not working for you then for diagnostic mode hold mode and up button as opposed to mode and down button before inserting key and starting car for Police mode. Some of the codes in P mode look like hex codes and I was wondering wether any of them could be decoded into trouble codes etc (i.e. when you cycle through the options using the mode button and see a string of six numbers and letters in the centrre panel then press up and down buttons to cycle through a list of these mysterious number-letter-strings)?

Also in reference to previous comments about the counter for the number of trouble codes and the stereo pin number I have a "ga" label and a "pg" but no "pn" or "psi" label in the right hand side (third) window. Note that my factory stereo has been removed.

So does anyone have this Gregory's manual that other comments refer to as having instructions in it on what all this stuff means?

P.S. I know mitch01 gave us some info in this article http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=1951 but that was a while ago and thought someone might know more now?

Thanks!

hey craig please dont use the term police mode
it is engineering or diagnostics mode
as for that article. he should be sued for fraud
like a fool i paid for the access to get a load of "dont know what this is and might be"
here is the real info
Trip computer diagnostic codes
Hold mode and up arrow then turn key to on or start
Release buttons
then
Press Mode = Dash Part Number - e.g. 1731
Press Mode = Mode Switch Voltage - e.g. BV - - - 5.0
Press Mode = Battery Voltage - e.g. V 11.8
Press Mode = Petrol Sender Voltage - e.g. FUEL 02.6
Press Mode = LPG Sender Voltage - e.g. VL 5.0
Press Mode = Remaining Fuel - e.g. 38L
Press Mode = Instantaneous Fuel (Liters per Hour) - e.g. 12.8 L/H
Press Mode = Engine Coolant Temp - e.g. 63 C
Press Mode = Vehicle Speed - e.g. 45 KM/H
Press Mode = Tachometer - e.g. 2380
Press Mode = Park Lamps Switch - e.g. P OFF
Press Mode = Dash Trouble Codes - e.g. t 00 (Press up/down to scroll through any codes, these are not PCM, ABS, etc codes)
Press Mode = Dash Test - All gauges will move, lights will come on and buzzer will sound.
Turn key off will revert to normal dash

Dash trouble codes
Format is t then code number then history then current some have nu which I cant remember but believe was not used
Eg

00 Fuel gauge sender unit — open circuit
01 Fuel gauge sender unit — short circuit
02 Fuel gauge sender unit — intermittent
03 Fuel gauge sender unit — open circuit
04 LPG gauge sender unit — open circuit
05 LPG gauge sender unit — short circuit
06 LPG gauge sender unit — intermittent

09 No serial data from BCM
10 No serial data from ECC
11 No serial data from PCM

So I got a HC on 19.... Would a Tech2 scan (or Holden service centre of they use anything OEM?) give me any more information about what the power control module fault is?

HC on 19 means the ecu/pcm is reporting a current fault
bridging 5 and 6 on obd port should tell you what it is
edit sorry craig just realised you have the 5.7L
bridging pins wont work on your car

vx ss
Looking for some help. I have a vx ss I bought and the key that came with it wasn’t programmed the dash was working before we played around trying to start it not knowing the key wasn’t programmed. Now none of the dash is working not even the trip computer is working or any of the gauges it’s not even displaying the kms. It was all working fine when I bought it, it just wouldn’t start as the key wasn’t programmed. Nothing was wrong with the dash before and need to work out what’s wrong with it as it only has 125,000kms on the clock I’ve checked all fuses and none were blown. Hoping someone might be able to help me
