VX Wagon 3.8 Auto. RPM at 100kmh ?

Lingage is outside the box and if it's not positioned right it may be in 3 not D.

Can you drag the shifter to 1,2,3 ok?
Yep, shifter moves fine.

If the old trans was fine and the new one isn't than most likely there is a problem with the new trans.

Read the fault code and take it back to whom-ever did the work and show them the fault.

Maybe the mace tune?

A few members have got a crab tune in the past.

Have you been in contact with Mace?

Vx have a flash style pcm. So for them to give you a tune, you'd need to send the pcm to them.

The tunes that seemed be stuffed where memcals.

Yeah, the local shop read the code which actually was something to do with 'shifting.' Sent the whole thing back to the box shop who pulled it apart and okayed it and then sent it back. Local shop says it scans as changing into 4th when it's blatantly not, by proof of the rpm... and still throwing the same fault.

Headed for a **** fight with this one cos it's technically out of warranty cos I've been too crook to drive for a while.

Why would it work for years with the old box and now not?

I posted on the mace thread here and sent them a mail. Nothing.

If the only thing that's changed is the box than the fault must lie somewhere in the box.

If it's commanding 4th but not shifting into 4th maybe some sort of fault with the solenoid or wiring loom for it?

I thought the tune was recent.

As @Immortality stated, check the wiring loom & plugs.

If your mechanic or you can't sort it, you will need a decent diagnostician, to work out why its not going into 4.

The testing has been all at 100 kph? Wont go into 4 until, l think 75 kph. So not at 60 kph.

Yes I test at 100kmh to get the rpm at 100kmh. I have to go and find piece of 100kmh road. It took me one test drive and about 10 seconds (at the most) to work it out which is why I'm really annoyed that the shop involved couldn't notice it when they supposedly did comprehensive test drive. I think they drove in traffic at 80kmh or some rubbish.
