Pcm? counts the pulses per kilometer, that determines what the speedo reading is.

Have you changed your dash cluster recently?
No. Stock cluster. Never changed.

I'd say you are in 3rd gear.

Using this website, https://www.blocklayer.com/rpm-gear ,entering in the 4l60e transmission ratio's and using the factory size tire and stock diff ratio gives the following results.

Hi. Need some help getting this last table to work please.

I have 225/55 R16 tire has a Diameter of 654 entered and the diff and gear ratios done and the graph is right.

This last table is still working on the default Tyre diameter of 680 and 6 gears. How do I get the table right please? Must be a simple button I'm missing. Thanks.

Installment about this.

Workshop says the scan tool shows the PCM is instructing a gearchange but the change not happening. We can all feel 'something' like a change but I end up with this rpm too high. Workshop says the torque converter is 'locking in' (or something) but the box isn't changing gear. Thus they will be contacting the specialist who built (and then already rechecked) the box.

Thanks for the update....Look forward to finding out the final cause
For anyone interested the solution was 'Valve Body issue'. Something that should have either been got right the first time or when it went back the first time as far as I'm concerned. Not going to make a pointless issue about it now though if it works when I get it back.

Thanks for letting us know.
Looking back over the thread, the evidence was there.
I suppose you wouldn't like to tell us who the specialist was? (or whether the mechanic who referred the gearbox back to them, actually did?)
There's heaps of 4L60E's out there. Shouldn't be hard to get right - and at least know what is wrong with it from the customer's diagnosis.

Glad to see it's all sorted anyway.
