HI all, I have to replace the cam actuator oil seals. I've watched the you tube vid and understand what I need to do. But the one thing they don't show you is what you have to remove to get to the actuators. Any ingo gratefully accepted

Well there is 4, but anyhow they have a 10mm hex head you undo, then you just pull them out, you can get the O-rings off with a seal pick and just push the new ones on.

LE0 has two cam actuators. It also has two cam sensors.

You’ll need to undo the 10mm bolts holding them in. One will be obscured by the ECM. This means it needs to be moved out of the way. Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery and tuck it away so it doesn’t accidentally contact the battery. The remove the 7mm earth bolt on the ECM and then undo the bracket holding the ECM to the engine. 10mm bolts.

If these are leaking, you should plan to do the PCV mod outlined in the forum’s How To section. This will relieve pressure in the motor and you won’t have oil leaking out of weak points.

@krusing has posted a bit on the orientation of the seal. Just take a photo of it when you remove the old one.

Plan to clean the actuators as well. Get some Carby/throttle body cleaner through them. Wipe the cam sensors with paper towel and throttle body cleaner.

Don’t over think it. It’s a really easy job.
