Stupid as in getting them painted?
Hahahaha, painted yes, black no. Gen IIs look best with silver. I should have added an emoji in my previous post.

x2 black rims are generally pointless and a lazy tidy up, like older cars with black interiors because it came in a spray that covered everything, including dirt and scuffs.

VZ Crewman, VZ Cross 8, & ya mum.
So putting VZ sv6 rims on the VR commodore shouldn’t really be cop bait right? I plan to get the rims painted
Not even close. Doing stupid **** in your car or having big stickers, or blocked out lights or super low suspension is going to get you their attention. Doing such things to a VR should be forbidden now. There’s too few of them around to go and ruin one like that.

Just put the wheels on. Drive sensibly. It’s not a big deal.

Are the rims in good shape paint wise? If yes don't paint them. There will be no change from.$1000 and could be well over that. I paint my own and it was probably close to $400 in materials alone. It took me about three hours per rim too. A professional will be close to three hours per rim as well.
Plus they chip. Two of my rims already have a small chip and it would be very hard to fix the chip in the clear, so I pretty much have to live with it.

I'm not on FB, and if I can't sell them to JC members, Gumtree would be a waste of my limited digital capability
I'd say create a Facebook and Gumtree account if you really want them gone... Somebody will want them on those platforms...

Any old Commodore (especially one with P-Plates) is going to be cop bait, even if it's completely stock, however putting these wheels won't make it any worse, cop bait wise...

Not sure about painting the wheels black or gold, as IMO it doesn't suit the VR/VS Commodore very well...

Totally agree. Trying to keep everything original/ be able to be reverted back to original.
