It comes from the ground so I say pour it back in there :p

Thats what i once said lol, but it really is not good after finding out the damage it does. But i guess its like anything, driving your car what damage it does, turning on your tv, not recycling etc etc. But since its water, and we all need clean water.

Yeah in all seriousness the best thing to do is take it to the tip. Most of them have a special area for waste oils.

You can dump up to 20L free with Monash Council, so dont know what your council has going. As has been said, try the council website or local tip.

we pour it on our wood fence posts, keeps the termites away..otherwise we take it to the tip like has been said.
