Hi All.
After rain or washing the car, the boot lid accumulates water, and when you open the lid the water
pours out of the drain holes (and usually into the boot). So I have to open it just a little at first so the
water can drain onto the rear bumper, and sometimes I need to deploy sheets of material to deflect
or catch the water.

It looks like a pretty bad design oversight to me, but is there any fix for it.\? I don't want to block any
necessary drainage "system".

Thanks.

I had the same issue with my VS.

Turned out to be the seals around the taillights in the boot lid.

They were NLA so I fashioned replacements from 3mm self adhesive foam from Clark Rubber which worked well.

Sometimes its the boot garnish or spoiler...I used blue tack to plug the holes and rolled it out to worm lengths to track the gaps around the light mouldings on my vx... dabbed a black felt onto it afterwards to tidy it all up....ends up looking like sealant bonus is its easier to remove/replace than silicone if you have to pull the light out ...it seals really good just press it in well and shape it off so it all looks tidy.... done right no one would know... cheap fix

Thanks, guys. I'll follow that up. I also found a couple of litres of water in the spare wheel well, and
had to sponge it all out.

Thanks, Bluehwy and DJL... I was thinking of having to drill some hole along the bottom of the
boot lid, but I suspect the water in the wheel well gets there some other way.

Again with my VS, I had water leaking in via the rear qtr windows.

Removed and resealed.....no more leak.

Wow! Did that accumulate in the door sill?

No, it was the windows to the rear of the rear doors.

EDIT: Derp.....just realised VT/X/Z don't have the same style windows.
