What Diff Ratio to get?

as i said to u somewhere else, r u sure abou tthat? ive always known them to be 3.08's in the standard VL's and ive had 4 of them lol

VL V8's run 3.08 and 6's are 3.45

Yeah as said ALL VL 6's are 3.45 ratio, only the 5L VL's had a 3.08 ratio.

The VL Turbo's had a 4 pinion, 28 spline diff though while the N/A 6's had a 2 pinion 25 spline.

But the gears are the same, 3.45 ratio.

well now i know how easy it is to get 3.45's i might go them instead of 3.7's, what difference is there between 3.45's and 3.7's in terms of acceleration 3.08-3.45 is another .37 and 3.45-3.73 is another .28 and 3.08-3.73 is another .65

3.7's are readily available in skylines anyway. If you choose to go the second hand route that is.

yea go to the wreckers and get your self a R31 skyline or pintara diff... im not sure whats what, but between the modelsm they had 3.7, 3.9 and 4.11 ratios... just dont tell the wreckers what u want it for otherwise they will charge u and arm and a leg for it lol

Yes, the early R31 models - although some didn't really have the circle lights.

They are getting harder to find as I know my dif guy (we go through centres alot :whistling ) has a permanent call into the local wreckers to put aside all 3.7 and 4.11 centres for him as they come in.
