Problem with the Honda's are the CVT. Definitely go for a manual. Older Toyota Kluger will also last forever. Buttery smooth to drive as well.

Type of oil you use should be dependent on how hot it gets in summer. 10-30 would be fine in most cities, but somewhere like Perth & Adelaide, not so sure?

There are non-CVT CRVs with 5 spead auto. Eg 2013 model.
