Most manufacturers change their model naming system once they've clocked the alphabet.

Do you think they will stick with the "V" code?

People were referring to the BA falc as an AV Falc until it was released as the BA.

Opinions/Flaming/Congratulations on innovative thought are ALL welcome :D

before anyone says it, YES i do realise ford were nowhere near clocking the alphabet with the "A" code cars.

That was more about changing consumer perception from the "clay prototype model left in the sun" car that was the AU to the make or break BA (and admittedly a damn good drive)

Well, since GM's large rear drive platform is known worldwide as the "V" platform, I'd say that chances are pretty good that it'll start with a V.

remember that VE is built on all new architecture that is shared within GM all around the world. its all modular etc etc so we get a cheaper version of what the yanks get as the Cadillac CTS. (They get a much better suspension setup)

So with this massive architecture change, who says that a new world code is used for this commo.

Ford change codes like they change their socks, so who says GM arent up for a change?

A lot of codes they can't use because they were designated to pre-production and prototypes, like the VA was a derivative of the UC Torana.. VM I think was a VN shaped car with an RB30 (or the other way around).. VD obviously a bad idea..

A pretty interesting and funny read: http://www.drive.com.au/editorial/article.aspx?id=2577&vf=1

Yeah. The 'V' platform. The next iteration of which is codenamed 'Zeta'.
