VE wagon manual
Hey everybody,

I need some new brakes on my VE SSV manual wagon and I’ve been eyeing off the XYZ big brake kits because, well, they’re massive and shiny…..and I make poor decisions with my right foot.

has anyone used them, recommend them or otherwise?

looking at the 6 pot fronts and matching rears

Thanks

Barry

"Need new brakes"? What do you mean by that?

Just make sure they don't use a custom/unique/odd rotor as it will make replacing them when they wear down cost a bomb (don't rely on the diameter to tell you that). Also make sure your wheels fit over them.

thanks for replying.

Mine are wearing as normal and so I may as well upgrade if I’m going to buy new stuff.
Also the SSV brakes aren’t awesome after a hard stop

thanks that’s good advice, on the rotors, much appreciated

When I put a big brake kit on my car (can supply images) I used the CTSV v2 brembo's which can be bought on ebay (for both 6 piston front and 4 piston rear) for around 2000 on ebay and DBA makes a set of rotors for them that will fit on a commodore

Thanks - for the reply, that's really helpful.

A couple of questions now you've stuck your head up.....
- are they bolt up or do they need a different mounting bracket?
- what size rotor is that to look for?
- did you need new brake lines?
- would you happen to have part numbers for the calipers and rotors by any chance?

appreciate you taking the time.

Cheers

Barry

This link should answer majority of your question (it says VF but it works the same with the ve)
https://forums.justcommodores.com.a...adillac-cts-v-v2-6-pot-brembo-upgrade.253375/
But to answer your questions:
-They bolted right up (may need to widen a few holes, refer to link)
-My front rotors are 370mm and my rear are 360mm (can be found in that link)
-no, you can use the factory brake lines, but you could upgrade to braided if you want
-refer to link for part numbers
