Reprogramming Keypads

Hi all...

My Commodore keypad is rooted and the buttons no longer work.

I can get a used cheap one off eBay but not sure if a used one can be reprogrammed or not.

Does anyone know if a used one can be reprogrammed ? If not how much does our good friends at Holden charge for a new key and a programme???

A key cannot be reprogrammed. I think a new one and programming is around $100 at Holden, give or take. New keyheads are available on ebay and some locksmiths can program them.

Its about $140 at Holden. Maybe $10 bucks cheaper if you go to the right dealer.

I can supply and prog at work for about $65 wagon (2 button) and $70 sedan (3 button) using genuine Holden remotes up and incl VX - sorry but can't do VY as yet.

Mr MINIT shoe and key cutting service found in some shopping malls supply and program heads for around 70-80 bucks with new key. Don't know if they are in all states.

Yes it is definite. I have three old keyheads and they cannot be reprogrammed.

I got a new key head and programmed for $87 all together from holden

plus the $107 parking fine i got outside

Only takes about 5 - 10 minutes if theyre not too busy, and you might get lucky (like i did) and get an extra 6 fm radio stations... not that i use them lol
