Islamic State, the militant group sowing terror across swathes of Iraq and Syria and calling for global jihad, hailed the brothers as "heroes" on its Al-Bayan radio station.

This is exactly what IS is promoting followers around the world to do, just like the Cafe siege in Sydney.

While I know it is not legal for me to do so I carry a knife at all times, plus another in the car. Would these help me against a trained shooter with a rifle, likely not.
I hope I never need to use either, but if I do I am sure I will be glad I have then.

No fatalities this time, only injuries.

It's looking like this is about to end.

Car jacking, chase, shoot out now they are surrounded but have hostages.

It seems these are extremely well trained individuals. I feel this should be the time to call in specialist army forces to end it as the police may be out matched.

I hope they are captured, but suspect they will not allow that.
