If it’s been sitting for three years the fuel in the tank won’t be usable anymore as it’s been sitting for too long.

If the tank was filled a quarter or less while it’s been sitting I would fill the remainder of the tank with the highest octane fuel you can get (98 octane). If it had over a quarter of a tank in it I would add octane booster as well to bring up the octane of the remaining fuel as well.

Any car sitting for so long must follow a process to get it going... even if stabiliser was added three years ago...

Do a visual inspection of all the wiring within the vehicle (look for vermin having chewed on things they shouldn't have).
Check battery condition or simply replace it if you haven't maintained it while in storgae.
Check all electrics operate (windows, door locks, radio, can check ecu codes, etc... gives a good idea if all seems ok).

Check tank (look inside) and flush clean any gunk, crud, sediment, etc (this could be a big job),
Check fuel pump and filter condition and repair/replace as required.
Check fuel lines for blockages and/or restrictions and resolve as appropriate.
Remove injectors and check their operation and spray pattern (off car), flush/clean & replace orings.

If all seems well, then and only then does one try and start it...

Wouldn't be the first time someone has spent ages and $$ on parts trying to get things working only to find chew marks on criticall injector or sensor wiring..

Again, it's a game of patience.
I had the chewed wiring issue with my Statesman project car when it was left sitting in my shed while I was doing the engine rebuild. By the time I got to putting the engine back in I had to fix chewed wiring up to get it going again. Damn rats!

Not if fuel stabilizer was used.

It may be the injectors are gummed up from fuel that's expired long ago.

Nah we need 4k video evidence and a spectral analysis of the fuel before we can believe your statement.
