You can spray the slots and drillings with matte black header paint after a good clean with acetone to stop rusting.
That's what I was thinking, but thought it would be tedious. Was going to do it with a small brush or q tip. Ron's still look pretty good. If they do end up looking cruddy I can always do it on the car I suppose

You just spray them and let the pads remove the overspray whilst braking.

Alot of rotors are fully coated in a black paint like material for the pad area to clean off. These (below) are just RDA stock replacement V8 rotors that come with the black coating.

No, just turns to dust but makes a mess dusting up the wheels whilst the pads are cleaning the coating off.

The first time I bought a coated rotor, I cleaned it off with acetone and a Scotchbrite concerned with pad contamination until the supplier told me not to, as it won't affect the pads.

I think the genuine VF2 Redline rotors are fully coated in a grey material too.

Ron, are they machined face HF20's like this? I like them, just a shame they weren't supplied in staggered fitment.

Nope, just silver overspray from when the hats are painted.

No, they are just shadowchrome. They look pretty good on my car.
One of these days I will get pair of wider ones in black and respray to match.

Yes, the shadow chrome on the HF20's is reasonably bright and does look good on white. The machined faced one's look good on darker colours.
