i have a sort of related problem :P today i got back from the servo and my car wouldnt lock. since i had to get ready for work i just used the key in the lock to deadlock and now i cant unlock it at all with key or button. embarrassingly, i had to ring a silvia owner friend for a lift to work...

im pretty sure they all have the same jack points for base models, ss, irs etc marked by half circle cut outs on the side rails, you can see that section is strengthend with a thicker plate. the front point is a bit back from the front wheel arch and the rear point is a bit passed half way up...

extension housing is off..when i turn the shaft it still makes the noise like maybe its coming from further inside

SHIFT KITS!! :P people always seem to be arguing about weather they damage your box. my box is half stuffed again not that long after a rebuild though i dont know if thats the shift kit or the people that installed it

new development: i did jack up the rear again and got a mate to turn the wheels and the sound is coming from the gear box..i took everything off and turned the shaft by hand and that seems to be making noise somewhere towards the rear section of the box. is there a sump plug to drain the ATF?

yeah just dabbed trans fluid on the bush and a bit inside the seal. i also put some grease on the rubber dust cover. should i have tried to pour trans fluid into the housing? i figured it would make its way down there on its own. Also i realized after a second test drive the squeel does not...

hey guys would love to hear any suggestions on this problem: I had a problem with an apparent imbalance in my prop shaft (VR 5.0 auto) causing a slight wobble at very low (and very high) speeds. I replaced the bushing and seal in the extension housing where the prop shaft plugs into the back...

depends on the tracks really..either way commies are not renowned for their handling v6 or otherwise so id go something smaller and more tunable if your serious about racing...escorts are good (gasp!) but since your probably a holden man my mate had a smokin gemini and cheap to prep for racing

Has anyone got any experience with ls1 transplants into a vr? i like the 5.0 but mines got a heap of k's on the clock (200k plus) so im not sure if its worth spending money on it for more power (ie supercharger or stroker). would love to hear of any advice/problems/costs etc. cheers

my prob is the rear passenger side door..lock twitches but does not always lock then sometime will work for a week or two and die again

do the front strut brace just bolt on or do you have to get them installed professionally?

Anyone know of an easy brake upgrade like slotted discs do they just bolt on or is it a pain? Also i heard vt ss calipers can be fitted on VR/VS?

try higher octane fuel like bp ultimate or optimax for a week or so if your lucky you might get off cheap on the injectors. i had that shuddering brake prob which turned out to be seriously run down suspension and has dissapeared after i got that fixed the other day so maybe get a free inspection

mates 1957 austin healy sprite..no seatbelts no hoops just seats bolted directly to the floor and this ridge of body work about neck(snapping) height all the way around you .i swear you could die in this thing from backing into a tree

i recently paid 2100 to rebuild a stuffed box in my v8 with shift kit definatly get the rebuild though i reckon the kit puts a fair bit of strain on the gearbox..i worthy improvement though im very happy

thanks to those who helped me fix my windshield washers by cleaning the pump and reservoir it worked a charm only problem is it worked so well they now squirt over the roof and land a meter or so behind the car!! any ideas? thanks
