Success and failure all wrapped in one, Car went strong! Good burnout, not too bad on launch without a high stall ran strong till 2/3 track, then whoever designed the 3and a half speed trans put there foot on the brake. With my 4.11 diff im tapped out at 2/3 track at 139 max. Wont do fourth gear...

No, quite the opposite. Heaps quieter as the small turb was sucking and blowing and making a hell of a induction noise. Its not as harsh low rpm but when that twirly thing goes, it comes on strong. Also with the other configuration i had trouble with short shifting at 4000 but with the extra...

A question for westerlybreeze, I have had a billet servo in and it fouled the tunnel so trans man put standard type back in. What i'm wondering is would a corvette servo fit instead of having to cut the tunnel. Does the corvette servo have a bigger cover than standard ? If so how much bigger...

Need to alter my tunnel to accept the billet servo. T70 on its way:boxing: The same one Delco has fitted to the HQ and he recons they pull like a pack of school boys after the school ball. Haha Its a work in progress like all play things!!!

Yep a bit more off the line, be better if the tranny wasn't gulping air so ill have to just skid it till she goes and t350 like you, also thinking of a diff change to get the top end a little better but these are minor teething troubles, now i know the tune is good i can happily stand on it :-}...

V6 3800 factory pushrod guide plate

Fully rebuilt :rofl2: Had a bit of a nervous time at startup as it was hard to start and would splutter to a stop with a small pop out the throttlebody. Running it NA for run in, so standard ECU and injectors. I was ready to take front cover off to check timing but got hold of delco wizzid...

Another couple of action shots. Haha Not just a job of weighing each end as without this rig the readings were all over the place. Even rigged without the ball bearings was still a gram either way, but with this set up with the ball bearings i got them to within 0.2 grams end for end and all...

Yeh mate, These photos make them look like there is a little nipple on top. but they are actually rounded on top and the pointy looking bit is a little indent. Think of them as innie not outie nipples.:rofl2: Sure youve seen some of them???

    VP-VR head valvetrain differences

Worried? In what way? You like your tits less pointy and bigger i suppose. I wasn't expecting them to look like that either but they are here and going in. The thought has crossed my mind about skimming the titties off to drop compression but im thinking they left them there for some reason and...

    VP-VR head valvetrain differences

Precision International and they are standard so with the extra depth and "titties" i suppose they come out at 9:1? Was thinking of some VN ones in stead to drop comp a little but then got baffled with different compression heights and different head chamber sizes on VN heads so i thought stay...

Wrecker said that i cleaned him out so ill be gettin my coin back:surprise: Um i think my brother said 300 for some oversize. Not forgies or anything special as i thought there was 0 of them anywhere? But delco seems to go pretty well on the stockies and he's doing the tune once i sort my...

    VP-VR head valvetrain differences

Yep im wondering if i should have bit the bullet and payed the 300 for new slugs and 80 for the bottom gasket set and the 400 for machining. At least then i would know what i got!!! But since the wrecker has my coin i suppose im stuck :undead: 3 down but there has to be a good one out there...

    VP-VR head valvetrain differences

Hi I had a vr v6 that i was having troubles with and went through lots to get that motor going including reco heads with port and polish but to no avail so are ditching that block and got a "GOOD runner" from a wrecker. Heads off that to stick my ported jobs on but one bore was rusty so back to...

A couple of photos to show ya ive been busy. Easy enough to do if you take ya time and have the correct long nose die grinder and lots of time to spare. Also pays to do a search on the site for the know how. If you can see any more improvement i could make please let me know. I just did a tidyup...

For anyone who's watching, the intake didn't fix the problem but must have been ready to go. So heads are off, and someone has maybe used silicon when they did the water pump as there was silicon in the little holes in the gasket that feed the head or bleed the head, but anyway three of these...

    [Buick] v6 missfire

This is what i found after chasing a small oil leak that i thought was the rocker cover but when i pulled cover off found white oil inside cover. So my miss im 99% sure is due to intake gasket. As for photo 2 that is what you get from not running coolant in your system. This was supposed to be a...

    [Buick] v6 missfire

Thats what i thought, they are definately 42bl green tops as i did a search of numbers cast on them and yes 42lb. i think the trouble is that they are ford racing ones and the old holden is objecting to ford gear??? they dont leak or drip and spray is heaaaaaaps. so why doesnt this thing get...
