I recommend to keep it. When I had my VTSS I gave it a full Sevice for piece of mind and over the years I had replaced the normal wear and tear items as they arised. As long as the car is looked after it'll be sweet.
I agree, I just traded my VT SS on a VE SSV and it is a revelation. It is well put together, smooth on all roads, quiet, 6 speed auto is awesome as is the L98 6 litre v8, more passive and active safety features, Bluetooth connectivity list goes on.
Don't know the part number but I do know the LS6 manifold will fit the the LS1. The LS6 manifold flows better at higher rpms than the LS1 manifold that's the only difference between the two.
I owned a VN 5.0 calais and it was a good cruiser, good lowdown torque and decent get up & go when overtaking. I now own a VT2 SS 5.7 auto and it does have more up top than a 5.0 but I had to install a 3.45 diff to access that extra power. Thanks to a tune and extractors it now has superior...
I fitted 3.46 gears in my VT2 SS auto it now does 2000rpm@100km from 1800rpm@100km with the old stock 3.07 ratio. An extra 200rpm doesnt sound much but it has given better acceleration especially when the auto kicks down to overtake, the car cruises more effortlessly and its not hard to chirp...
I have fitted 3.46 gears to my VT SS and it does about 2000 rpm at 100km from 1800 rpm with the old 3.07 diff. 200 rpm difference might not look that great but on the road the improved acceleration is really good and noticable, especially when the auto kicks down to 3rd which the engine revs...
