Well they're sold out till April so obviously some will. Last runout deals on F6 was 60k and GT 70K.
Given the XR8 is an RSpec GT without the kit id say its about right on the mark. Ironically same drive away price as a Redline...
Surely it would be cheaper to just buy a LSA and park the stock Motor in the garage than pull it apart and make the car a pig to live with day to day??!!
That's right, but nobody can drive one out of a dealership for $52K so there's no point saying they're a $52K car... That's my point.

To the best of my knowledge there hasn't been a XR8 sold for less than $58K, and that's a manual.... Auto's about 62K.
Dealers will not budge on them and given how short supply they are they don't need to.
With MY16 SSV Redline out later this year and rumored to contain the LS3 I have 2 questions, 1) what state of tune will it come with and in a broader sense 2) what are the practical differences between the 317, 325 and 340?
hardware or just tune.?
For a $1500 buck tune only you'll get the XR8 to over 400rwkw, so there goes your "economical mod" theory...
You will have to spend 10 times that on the Redline for the same result.
FH XR8 gets brembo's, RSpec suspension and Staggered width Rims, so performance wise its a match for the Redline and will smash it in a straight line.
Drive Away pricing isn't confirmed yet but the 45-50K talk is completely unrealistic.
To the best of my knowledge VF2 (or update whatever they call it) SS will get base tune LS3 as per US model and HSV range get the new motor.
This will happen at some point next year.
