I took my stock 340kw GenF clubby M6 down the quarter and did 13.13 @ 111.25mph with a 2.1 60'
With all that extra power you have (over 400kw at the crank), I would have expected...
Just swapped in the ECU I got from the wreckers (with my v8 memcal) and started her up, good as gold!
I Let it idle for a few minutes and took it for a drive and its all good! Engine light isn't on either.

Nah, the dizzy wasn't stuffed when I replaced it, just replaced it cos I'm fairly sure it was the original one still.
Least the ecu is a sinch to replace, I'll do that...

From the stock headers it goes into the stock cat, then its 3" pipe all the way to the back then over the diff then there is 1 muffler right near the outlet tips...

in the end i did the dodgy and cut up some sheet metal with holes drilled in it and put that after the catalytic converter.
worked a treat on queiting the thing down. really worth a try!
Hey, been a while since i posted, so i hope this is in the right section.
Got defected on my exhaust being too loud (3" cat-back.. 106dB).
So i need to quieten it down.
Does a vn v6 exhaust bolt up and fit properly on the v8? from after the cat of course.

Got a new cushion button clutch in my vn v8 a few weeks ago.
Everything is good with it, really light pedal and it grips well and i made sure for the first 600kms i took it easy on it.
Now that it is all bedded in, I tried a few 0-100 runs a couple of times and a few times...
fu<k yeah! i didn't think of shimming it that way, it only looks too far forward by maybe 2mm or so, but when revving hard.. that will most likely make a considerable difference.

yeah thats a possibility hey, mate used to have a 5L but he upgraded to vu ss, ex missus has a 5L but don't wanna go near her lol.
I might try get some serial / model numbers off the alternator thats in there and see if it is a correct fit for my car, or if they've dodgied it up like you said...
yeah, i've had a look at the alignment, and to my eye i reckon the alternator pulley is sitting just slightly forward of the other pulleys, not sure but i think they may have shimmed it too much?
Thats a possibility, also, its not a genuine bosch alt.
And wez, its thrown 3 different...

Is it difficult/possible to retain the clutch fan with gilmer drives?
cos i'd either go the twin AU thermos, or gilmers, cant afford both atm.

Few months ago my alternator died, so mech. replaced it.
Then a day or 2 later the car over heated, checked, and the alternator /fan belt belt had slipped off.
Took it back in to him, he put a new one on and I asked him to check that the tension was corect. he put new belt on...
a few months back i was cruising round with a few mates.
i had 1 mate in my car, then my other mate had his car (a black lexus v8 ls400 with 20" chrome wheels) was driving in front of me.
and some ******** uni students in an excel gave him the finger and yelled something, so he gunned it...

yeah, i had to laugh afterwards as i yelled at the boys to come look what happened! it looked similar to a snake coming out of a hole lol.
I installed a pioneer CD player (Pioneer DEH-P5750MP) on the weekend, and apart from the holes on the new cd player not lining up the same as on the stock tape deck, everything went fine. it powered on first time.
then we tried the radio on it, and the electric aerial which is factory...

i would love a 355 stroker, but its big $$ and i think i might just go with cam for now.
