MY10 SSV engine vibration with AFM in 4 Cyl Mode

I had the same issue, found the problem was 3 buckled rims...the vibration caused by the buckled rims was exasperating the vibration in AFM mode. There is always a small vibration with AFM under minimal load, but mine was ridiculous at it's worst. Sounds weird, I know but since getting new...

    Trouble Starting

Hey all, Got an odd one, my 2009 SSV is having trouble starting when the engine is hot. For example, starts normal if cold, drive and stop to fill up...the engine really has trouble cranking over. If the engine cools a bit, it will start. Makes for filling up and quick stops a hassle. It...

    VE HVAC actuator replacement.

Well after having my AC stuck on the window, passenger side blowing hot air and driver side blowing cold air, I finally got around to changing these little bastards on Saturday. Only had to replace two which I'm happy about, still took a couple of hours and several beers. It's really not that...

    Theft of SSV

Exactly, I'd more worry that if it is stolen, it gets written off. It would be worse to get the thing back after it's been flogged and whatever else.

    SS Seats embroidered?

If yours is a ute, that would explain why no SS embroidered on the seats. If it's a sedan, maybe they are replacement seats from a ute, apart from that not sure why as they are all standard on SS sedans.

Ordered new 8" 2DIN Sat Nav Stereo for my VE Series I

Keen to see some updates on the dual zone too!

VE V8 L76 AFM Deactivator - Interests and Features Request

Interesting and like where your going. It would be really good to through the menu to activate and deactivate AFM, I don't know why Holden didn't do this from factory. I'd actually like to see the engineering menu, on the main menu also and be able to access while driving.

Ordered new 8" 2DIN Sat Nav Stereo for my VE Series I

Awesome, that looks heaps better...hopefully the buttons light up red too to match the factory model. Definitely keep us posted on this!!!

Keep us updated with the high end option and how that looks

Ordered new 8" 2DIN Sat Nav Stereo for my VE Series I

Exactly what I was thinking, they definitely have he ability but should match the factory layout and maybe offer a few colour options. If it looked like the factory SSV unit, i'd buy one tomorrow and i'm sure they'd sell a lot more.

    VE Servicing

Unfortunately you have been ripped off, my 90,000 major service on the SSV was $1,500 which included new decent spark plugs, all new brake pads and machining of front rotors etc. My local mechanic is not the cheapest, but gives a really good quality service.

    Oil in V8 Plenum Chamber

Cheers for the replies, I'm not too familiar with the LS engine so good to get this sort of feedback.

Ordered new 8" 2DIN Sat Nav Stereo for my VE Series I

I am unsure about the look of the unit, nothing against your purchase and I would love to upgrade the tech in my SSV but it just doesn't get me over the line. I think it's the button layout and dials just look a bit dated to me.

    Oil in V8 Plenum Chamber

Hi All, Though i'd change the air filter and give the throttle body a clean which appeared a little oily. Open the value to look in the chamber and could see oil inside. It wasn't dripping or saturated but definitely coating the chamber. No oil in the intake. Is this normal or should...

Changing rear light bulbs major op?

It's not hard work at all. I've taken the whole tail light assembly out when there was moisture getting inside. Took all but 5-10 min, pull clips out holding the boot lining and away you go. I think from memory, you need to chase a few clips to get enough room.

VE SSV Wagon floor vents not working

I had the exact same issue as you Husky, read this post yesterday and did the reset thing. The vents made a noise then a clacking noise and now it just blows air on the front windscreen. Can't change it at all now, should have just left it :censored: I think i'm going to have to do the hard...

Paintless Dent Removal - Crease line

Hi all, For some reason my rear left door has 3 little dings from idiots who have decided it's ok to open their door and hit my car in the process, this infuriates me. They are all small but the third is on the crease line, probably 5mm in length and not deep. Does anyone have...

    VE Calais Transmission Help

Don't know about warranty on the service. Maybe ask them if there was any faults logged on their system relating to the transmission when they did the service. If there was and nothing was done on their behalf, you may have an argument. I know the earlier VE's has flare issues with the...

Gear Changing Erratically (Going down hill)

I know with mine if I am going down hill, after a while the car will kick back a gear or two (i.e. from 6th to 4th) to help hold speed so I'm not riding the brakes and then once the car levels out, it shift back to normal. This only happens with long downhill sections.

Thinking of upgrading to a VE.

I have a 2010 VE SSV Auto with just over 100,000kms now and it has been faultless. If going a VE maybe best to go from 09.5 models on...pre 09 models have teething problems. Also go V8!

    Brake Upgrade for VE SSV

With my SSV, I just upgraded the rotors to slotted and put in a decent set of pads (Ferodo) plus brake fluid and I now have a lot more confidence in pulling up the car quickly. Should be able to do all that for $1,500. Brakes are quiet with minimal dust.

    VE Rim Center Cap

Ah totally forgot about that...a grub screw in the right spot could work though as you can remove it to take the cap off. If someone aftermarket had the right solution, could make some good $$.

    VE Rim Center Cap

Well unfortunately some grub has decided to steal two centre caps from the rims on my car, at least they had some decency in taking the caps from the same side to keep the car looking some what symmetrical. This grub has now cost me $70 which is two new caps including postage. In my reactive...
