    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Yes and yes. Firmer than stock but I love it.

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Jono67 reread your post and realise you only said Pedders springs sorry. It's a guess to know if your car has OEM (supplied by Monroe) or aftermarket Monroe struts. In your case, my guess is OEM as my removed OEM struts I still have show similar markings to yours.

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

The struts will be modified GM OEM struts. Stock OEM struts are sealed with the Monroe damper inside. Pedders (and others) cut off the very top of OE struts to remove the OE damper. The strut then has a threaded section welded in place so that a removable gland nut can be installed. This permits...

@Taryne how did you get on, any news?

    150,000km Service on 2014 VF SV6 Storm

Agree, get a second opinion. Possibly incorrect quantity of fluid. There's no dipstick so there's a procedure to follow to ensure correct fluid level.

    150,000km Service on 2014 VF SV6 Storm

If I interpret you correctly, a surge is engine revs increasing but diminished acceleration due to a partial disconnect of the engine from and the rest of the driveline? Sounds like in transmission fluid supply. Either quantity refilled too low or flow into the system impeded/blocked. From what...

    Legal wheel spacers?

That's just sad. Mods, time to tie this off.

    Legal wheel spacers?

Yep, my 0.02 is you'll be up for a wheel change. As expensive as that is, it's probably going to be the easiest in the end. You can always fleabay the old ones to ease the pain.

    Legal wheel spacers?

I for one would be surprised if the engineer will certify the mod if there is insufficient clearance.
  11. saroadie

    Legal wheel spacers?

If it's engineer certified then all good obviously.
  12. saroadie

    Legal wheel spacers?

Haha dunno. If both brakes and spacers were fitted and the car was defected, they'd both be coming off. Which one is the PITA to remove and return to OE spec?

VF commodore redline lowering help needed

Yes some outlets paint the strut yellow, others paint them black. I love the improvement the Bilsteins made. They're a very good match for the lowered spring. It has a well controlled and firmer ride which is part and parcel of lowering. I'm very happy.

VF commodore redline lowering help needed

The fronts are black because the B8 Bilstein damper has already been fitted to the front strut. The kit is supplied with these new struts. These are ready to bolt straight in. This is done by the seller because the struts in your car are sealed and the insert in them in not removable. If you...

Excessive tyre wear - rear outside edge

Sounds like a SLIGHT alignment problem then. If you haven't already done so find a good alignment operator. They can take readings and make a small change to correct the issue. Using the camber and/or toe adjustments, a pro will use side slip reading as well to optimize the car to your...

Excessive tyre wear - rear outside edge

Couldn't agree more. A pro alignment is worth the money. Most (not all) tyre shop alignments aren't as good because they are often to a price so are time and money limited. @Ron Burgundy Could be pressure, could be alignment. How many km on the tyres? What pressure do you run them at? How...

    VF SV6

It could be battery/low voltage related. There's been a couple issues on this forum which seem to be related to low voltage. Rectified when battery replaced. If yours has the original battery it may be worth checking out. Good luck and please keep us updated.

    VF SV6

Then quite possibly will be part of the power steering recall which applies to vehicles built on or before 30/4/15. There is another thread about this within which owners of affected cars (all VFs built on or before 30/4/15) have recently been receiving notification letters from Holden about an...

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

@AllanT I think Panhead is spot on regarding the way to measure and his alternative ride heights for your car. Lowering yours by 15mm more at the front based on this will get you 383 front making your car look more the way you want. Looking closely at your picture supports this in my view. I...

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

How does it stay flatter in the rear? Wouldn't that twist the car?
  28. saroadie

    Lowering VF2 SSV Redline Sedan

Fair enough. I'm with Panhead on this though. The rake in the body Holden built in makes a flat sitting car look quite raked anyway. The swage line starts below the top of the front wheel arch but is quite a way above the rear arch. The standard rear-high suspension stance coupled with the raked...

VF SV6 (2017) Catch Can placement

Anything would do, it's only a small diameter fitting. I used the yellow double density stuff because that's what I had. The white single density stuff would work fine too. Just be neat with it as always so no stray bits go anywhere unwanted on the inside or look daggy on the outside.

VF SV6 (2017) Catch Can placement

Yes use thread tape. I cut into the factory pipe, trimmed the Elite hoses a little and attached them directly to the shortened factory pipe ends using the supplied clamps. Still working perfectly. Gets about a third full per 5000km.

are SSV Redline shockies digressive or progressive?

Yep. I've got Bilsteins and Kings. Terrific improvement over FE2. Super happy 2 1/2 years on.

    Tail light bracket question?

Yes, there's a service bulletin about it. I was informed of it at my last service a fortnight ago. Mine is still sitting perfectly and so far had not been an issue. They install a revised bracket each side same as series 2. Involves removing the bumper and drilling holes. They want the car all...

ECU tuning - is it technically legal

In terms of compliance a car whether modified or not must be compliant to be truly legal. The car manufacturer looks after unmodified cars. The responsibility for modified cars has to be the owners. A kit could contain forced induction and plumbing. Nothing to stop a third party fitter or owner...
