    Bluetooth Handsfree in the VE

Bluetooth more a pain I've never been happy with the bluetooth on my SSV. Had 2 brands of phone and same problems. Caller at other end can hardly hear - if I adjust volume it creates echo. Call quality flakey at best. Still will have to do.:bang::bang:

    VE SSV electricals

My understanding is that the CANBUS electrical system drives the cut off for the screens. I'm not a holden technician nor electrical guru. The CANBUS is effectively the computer wiring network that controls many of the cars components. Unfortunately there dont appear to be many people...

    VE Tyres Bald

Time to Move the tyres round Thanks for this thread. My SSV has done just under 10k. Spent Monday jacking up one side at a time to move the fronts to rear and vice versa - makes you wish you owned a car hoist!! Ideally I should have also moved the tyres to the opposite corners - but a...

    VX S Fog Lights

My advice - just get the genuine stuff from Holden. I bought a pair of aftermarkets from ebay - spent too many hours trying to sort out some way of fixing them to the S pak. In the end bought the switch and lights from GMH -job took about 30 mins to fit every thing.

    VE SS vs VE SS-V

Dont wish to sound rude but if your serious about buying an SS/SSV - have you tried the Holden web site or a brocheur? They both clearly list the dfferences. :whistling

    SS and SSV Fuel Usage

12.3 included a motorway run so the mix would have been around 60% town and 40% motorway as a guestimate. The 14L per 100 is my usual commuting mix with very little if any motorway driving

    SS and SSV Fuel Usage

My SSv averages around 14L per 100KLMS - this is based on around 85% non motorway commuting. My VY SS - used to average around 18 to 19L on similar usage. Needless to say I am very pleased about the fuel consumption - and it has vindicated my decision to eventually by another V8 rather...

    V8 fuel saver

It is possible to want and buy a V8 - want the best on road price and also want a cost effective vehicle. I does not mean that if you drive a V8 you must have loads of money, dont give a hoot about fuel economy and are not permitted to have a brain - this is only a myth. A V8, on the road...

    V8 fuel saver

I know we V8 owners are not supposed to be worried about fuel consumption as our brains are only supposed to be focussed on the power. However - just for information - I estimate my VE SSV is around 4 to 5L per 100klm more efficient than my VY SS. I am doing similar driving in the new car...

    VX Facia Consol

Dash insert from 2001 VX S Pak commodore. Excellent condition. Includes gear shift surround and dash facia panel. Ideally for spraying or just insert as is into VX Commodore. $55 for both items (ie $55 total) - plus postage

Show Me:::::Your new dash, re-painted or new

If anyone needs a replacement facia/consol - I'm selling mine on ebay. Just removed it from a VX Spac as I replaced it with a silver consol. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=015&item=250038886214&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&rd=1

Can anyone confirm if the VX dash facia can be fitted onto a VT? (in particular VX s pak onto a VT SS) Thanks

VX Super Charged Rocker Cover Gasket

Thanks for the heads up. I can now answer my own question as I have just completed the job. Replaced both gaskets. On one side, the alternator needs to be loosened and moved out of the way the enable the cover to come out. On the other side, the air box hose needs to be removed and the...

VX Super Charged Rocker Cover Gasket

Anyone changed the rocket cover gaskets on a V6. If so, is it a complex/hard job requring any special tools? Many thanks

    Sump removal

From memory the oriignal part from Holden was not that expensive- around $5I think. Also Ultra tune said they carry the sump plugs in stock as apparently this happens a lot - even to their own guys on occassions.

    Sump removal

You have my sympathies. I had a similar problem -in that I completely rooted the head of the nut on my VX (even tried mole grips). I took it to Ultratune - they had it up on the hoist and used a cold chisel to remove the nut - took them 20secs. They say this occurs quite often...

    Sunshine Coast Coppers !

I wouldn't worry about that - 1) Chases are limited and very controlled. 2) These guys ain't amatures 3) The handling features on the VE are all a step forward designed to compensate for 'driver' indiscretions.

To Buy Or not to buy

Tomorrow never comes...........if you wait for the latest and best - you will never end up buying anything. The VG will have a series 2 but wait ...the VH may be better. Buy today and enjoy it for what it is........who knows what the future will bring

To Buy Or not to buy

Tomorrow never comes...... ...cars are a bad financial investment - once you accept that - the money side is no longer an issue. That said- there will always be refinements, newer models etc etc. if we all waited for the final final model - we would never buy the car. The VE is streets...

    speaker choice?

You might want to put the rear speakers in the parcel shelf and forget about the rear door speakers. Better placement and better sound. The Rear shelf is built to accommodate 6 x 9 speakers

V8 or not V8 - that is the question

Tyre replacement costs steered me away from considering 20". I reckon I am up for a new set of tyres each year. the 19" 240 45 will be anuthing around the $600 to $800 mark. May consider 19 240 35 or similar - which may be around the $300 to $500 mark each. Trying to balance practically with...

V8 or not V8 - that is the question

Have considered a number of things - get a spare or not, stripes or not, red dash or not. In the end have ordered the red hot with black interior - liked the rehot seats but did not like the red dash. Decided no o go for the spare upgrade as later on may change the tyres to 35 profile and...

V8 or not V8 - that is the question

Not yet - waited to see the coloured dash option in the flesh - which I saw for the first time last night. Wasn't too keen on it - will now go with the all black which I think looks more classy. The seats with red inserts (or the full red seats as per my VY SS) and the full black dash would...

V8 or not V8 - that is the question

I'm currently driving an auto VX S/c. My SSV will be manual (yipee). Had a BF falcon ute for the day today with the auto box. Tried the manual select option - in my view its boring as hell. No clutch, no bite point, just a boring flick of the lever on upshift. If I chose not to flick on down...

V8 or not V8 - that is the question

Part of my logic in buying the V8 now is based a little around what you say. At the moment fuel costs are higher than what we are used to. Over the next few years they will of course keep going up. So by buying a V8 now - I figure I can enjoy it at (just about affordable) costs for a few...

    Should I be concerned?

Can you advise approx cost of repair and was it by the dealer?
  34. SSV8pilot

    Should I be concerned?

Coolant was my first thought - but levels seem ok. Don't know why it is dripping where the a/c drips.
  35. SSV8pilot

    Should I be concerned?

My VX dropped a small puddle of green water where it normally drips the a/c water when first parked. Is this something I need to worry about?

A fair bit - not sure what ASRS is though. As you work for them - you might want to see if you can get a copy as you may see your smiling face. From memeory - many of the production line shots where fast forward type speed.
